The estate, accommodation and facilities

An ancient farmhouse and a working farm rooted in authenticity

Agriturismo Barbadoro is a beautiful 14th-century farmhouse that once belonged to the Count of Gherardesca. The estate is still home to a working organic farm, with a focus on vegetable cultivation — a true asset for guests looking to experience the local land and its rhythms in a more immersive way.

  • Garden available to guests, with a barbecue and wood-fired oven in the event area.
  • Dinners à la carte or buffet-style, plus aperitivi with live music and regional dishes made from local ingredients.
  • Generous breakfast buffet: homemade cakes, biscuits, jams made with the farm’s own fruit, cold cuts and cheeses from nearby producers, served with fresh bread and traditional flatbreads. Vegan and gluten-free options available on request.
  • Rooms and apartments on the ground and first floor, accommodating around 20 guests.
  • All apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, with barbecue available.
  • Ground-floor accommodation with veranda and fenced garden: perfect for guests travelling with pets, who can move around safely.

From field to fork

From field to fork!

One of the highlights of Agriturismo Barbadoro is the guests’ vegetable garden, where everyone staying at the property can freely pick fresh seasonal produce to prepare salads and light, healthy meals.
Just a few minutes away in San Vincenzo, guests can also visit the farm’s produce stand, open every morning during the summer season. There, Elena is ready to offer tips and friendly advice.

Fabio and Tamara

A family-run atmosphere that makes you feel at home

“It’s really important to us that our guests feel at home from the moment they arrive. We want their stay to exceed expectations, and to know that if anything comes up, they can count on us.”
So say Fabio and Tamara, owners of Agriturismo Barbadoro.

Their story goes back a long way:
“This farmhouse was once part of the estate owned by the Count of Gherardesca. Our father and grandfather used to work the land and raise horses for him. When the Count sold the estate, our family purchased the farm and started our own agricultural business.”

Today, Fabio runs the working farm, growing seasonal vegetables used in the agriturismo kitchen and for direct sale. He’s also a local expert who can recommend the best routes for walking, cycling and even horse riding.

Tamara manages the agriturismo and, together with Fiorella, welcomes guests each morning with a generous breakfast buffet of local products and homemade treats.
Giulia, their daughter, coordinates the events.
Some highlights? In summer, à la carte dinners and AperiOrto evenings — tastings based on farm-grown or locally sourced products, with live music, DJ sets and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere
