Who We Are

Hello Fabrizia and Marzia, we’re delighted to welcome you to Tuscany Sports Holidays. Could you tell us a little about yourselves and what you do?

“Certainly! We are Fabrizia Campolunghi and Marzia Colani, both of us are somatic education teachers with a specialization in the Feldenkrais® Method. Our passion is helping people improve their physical well-being through organic learning and conscious perception of movement.”

What courses or services do you offer? How can you help people?

Our Tuscany-based Feldenkrais Method retreats provide a unique opportunity to explore this approach to somatic education, recognized globally as a postural method.. In addition to the Feldenkrais Method, we also offer Harmonisation Physique, a psychosomatic and aesthetic gymnastic activity. Our retreats include both group sessions and individual lessons. Through these practices, we help people enhance body awareness, reduce stress, achieve better postural alignment, and increase joint mobility

Could you tell us about the themed seminars you organize?

We regularly host themed seminars that explore specific aspects of the Feldenkrais® Method in-depth. These seminars are designed to address topics such as optimal postural alignment, breathing awareness, and harmonious shoulder movement. Moreover, we offer practical sessions on the pelvic floor and eye movements to stimulate neural connections.”

The Feldenkrais Method

How did you come up with the idea to teach the Feldenkrais® Method? What does it entail, who is it for, and what benefits can it bring?

“The idea to teach the Feldenkrais® Method came from our deep belief that conscious movement can positively impact people’s lives, both in everyday life and in sports. We have personally experienced the benefits of this method in optimizing sports performance and gaining greater body awareness while moving.

The Feldenkrais® Method is suitable for people of all ages and physical conditions, including athletes and regular physical activity practitioners. Through a series of guided and conscious exercises, the method aims to improve movement efficiency and fluidity, increase body awareness, and prevent injuries.

The benefits are numerous. Slow, mindful movement exercises help develop greater body awareness and movement patterns, which can lead to improved self-esteem, increased flexibility and coordination, reduced muscle and joint pain, and a general sense of calm and relaxation.

Additionally, the Feldenkrais® Method can help overcome physical and emotional blocks, improve posture and body alignment. Its gentle, respectful approach promotes individualized, personalized movement learning and exploration.

We have seen many cases where it has improved people’s quality of life, allowing them to face daily challenges with greater ease and confidence. It is a holistic approach that promotes overall body and mind well-being.”

Is it possible to practice the Feldenkrais® Method while on holiday? How can you organize it?

“Yes, you can continue practicing the Feldenkrais® Method during vacation. We organize group sessions outdoors in scenic locations such as the beach or the woods, where participants can experience movement awareness in a relaxing and natural environment.”

Can you continue practicing online after the holidays?

“Certainly, we also offer online lessons for those who wish to continue the practice after their holidays. Online classes allow participants to experience the benefits of the Feldenkrais® Method from the comfort of their own homes. Through interactive virtual sessions, we provide detailed instructions, personalized feedback, and ongoing support for an effective and convenient learning experience.”

Where do your activities mainly take place in the summer? Outdoors? Only in Cecina?

During the summer, we primarily conduct our activities in our dedicated somatic education space located in Cecina, Tuscany. We organize outdoor lessons in scenic spots along the Etruscan Coast, such as beaches, parks, or woods, to offer participants an immersive nature experience during our practices.”

What aspect of your work are you most passionate about?

“What excites us most about our work is witnessing the positive changes that individuals experience through practicing the Feldenkrais® MethodSeeing students develop greater body awareness, improve their posture, reduce stress, and discover a sense of balance and well-being is a rewarding experience for both us as teachers and the students themselves.”
